My Garden by sheyzz

In the first part of May, I dig into the soil and clear it of winter's debris. Waiting not so patiently for the mid of May so I can plant flowers visioned in my mind.  Going to nurseries, selecting the healthy plants and the colors I will enjoy this summer.  Bringing my choices home, digging the ground, placing the flowers carefully ... a drink of water for each one.  Watching thru June, July, and August for weeds, removing dead buds, waiting for the rain.  Each morning ... waking early and in the sunrise, I take my coffee and walk outside. Enjoying the fresh air and my flowers, blooming all around me, and rejuvenate my senses in this joy. Does My Garden serve any purpose ... yes, it is my celebration of creation. The hard work forgotten, the aches and pains in my body ignored for the beauty in each creation takes my breath away. I bend to inhale their sweet perfume, each one unique, each one having it's own identity. All blending together in one area to live and multiply.  My senses are filled with beauty for the eyes, soft petals to rest in my hands,  sweet aroma for my nose, and I am in awe of the simple way nature cures me. My dream of nature's harmony blesses me for I am forever young whilst I am in My Garden.

Hi!  My name is Susan aka sheyzz, wife, mother of two adult children, daughter, middle child, and sister.  I'm a workaholic being a legal assistant by day and restaurant employee in the evenings and weekends.  In my spare time (LOL ... what's that?), I enjoy my time with my family and friends.  My hobbies include web and graphic design, reading good books, art (digital art, sketching, and pencil drawings), gardening, home and yard renovations, and day trips with my husband.  I am a Christian having been raised in the Nazarene faith.  I am not a professional writer but, as my family and friends can attest to, I am never for a loss of words :)  However, I try to express myself in an easy to understand manner that sometimes is very passionate.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to meet friends through this website who share a common interest in digital art and/or web design.  Many times I am asked 'who are you?'  This is my way of answering that question.  Take a look around the sheyzz toybox website, you will see digital art that is feminine and romantic, videos of music that are personal selections of my favorites, words of wisdom and motivation that inspire me and hopefully will inspire you as well.  This website is a reflection of me.  sheyzz toybox is where I keep my treasures and share them with you. 

I am a problem solver that doesn't rest until a solution is found or I have done everything in my ability to offer a resolution. A personal philosophy that I follow is giving back.  Friends sometimes need a helping hand and I'm the one they call for assistance.  They may need some help cleaning out a closet, a room, their yards mowed or leaves raked, etc.  I'm there and pitching in to get it done.  It is just one example of doing for others that shows you care.  Another way that I like to help others is by creating and maintaining websites for non-profit organizations and charities.  These agencies have limited resources and funds simply aren't there typically to get information on the internet.  I provide the means of helping others by getting that information to the public.  No one has to look far for a need, one just has to seek and they will find.

I worked twenty years for a government agency and worked with low income families.  Poverty presents challenges that most cannot overcome.  It has been my experience that those who accept their conditions, live in those conditions, it becomes a way of life for them.  Those who, on the other hand, strive to make a change from those conditions, succeed.  That success may not come in the form of financial gain, but their lives are enhanced in other ways that are difficult to measure.  Do not be quick to judge another's circumstances especially when you don't want others to take a harsh look at yourself.  Stereotype thinking boxes people in and can lock away the freedom to choose a different way.  I am positive that anyone can change their circumstances if they have the desire to do so.
